Southland Tales had the most exciting website when it was being made. Top level mystery all the time. I wanted to capture some of that with the glowing skull orb and fingerprints 💾
Updated June 2024
After its first screening at Cannes in 2006, Southland Tales was met with a notoriously scathing response resulting in the film being reedited and withheld from a release for a year and half.
This re-cut uses the Cannes cut as the primary structure with music cues and effects shots of the Theatrical cut mixed in an attempt to be closer to what the original version might've been.
2024 note: It is mostly just the Cannes cut + with theatrical music/sound cues + Rebekah Del Rio performance in full.
